Sampling Platform to Study Long Distance Seed Dispersal

My role in the five-member design team encompassed systems integration, electrical design, firmware, and rapid prototyping.

I selected an ATMega series 8-bit microcontroller as the basis for this system. I implemented the sub-systems using primarily open-source hardware. This facilitated integration by allowing me to use an Arduino core with custom modified Open-Source firmware libraries to achieve our specific device configuration.

I had the privilege of representing the team in Taipei, Taiwan at the Oceans'14 IEEE/MTS conference.
